Topic: It's July Already??#$%^*&
I thought the idea of a virtual therapist (ie this Blog thing) sounded pretty good. Somewhere for me to babble on about random thoughts I have, etc. This is a good way for my family and friends to get the scoop on what I have been up to, and also for all the "internet surfers" to read about the Life and Times of Alisha...(which I know there is an extremely high demand for this information...) *INSERT SARCASM*
Anyway- I suppose I will "blog/babble" for a while till I get bored.
So its JULY already! Can't believe it. Time sure flies when you are....OLD! :)
Let me take you back to the beginning of the year. Prior to January 21st (for the last three years) My home-my job-my HELL, was the USS Nightmare (aka the USS McCampbell) I refer to it as such, because being on board that ship contributed to many sleepless nights, tons of stress, weight gain, weight loss, etc. We were constantly out to sea. It was impossible to build and/or maintain friendships-relationships here in San Diego because I would only be in port for a few days or a few weeks, then I would be gone for months at a time. But enough about the ship, I am NO LONGER ON IT, and even though I am in the Navy- I will do everything in my power to avoid being on a ship again--its just not for me.
Well, I got an apartment on the 15th of January BY MYSELF. (no more roomates YAY) Between being married, and having roomates, I had never lived alone, so I was stoked about it. I landed a GREAT one bedroom apartment one block from the beach in a GREAT location close to all the bars and restaraunts. Mom came to visit (and help me move in and decorate) on the 17th. On the 21st of January I left the ship (AWESOME DAY) I took "vacation" from then until the second week of February because I had a trip to Whistler, BC (canada) planned for the first week in February. I didn't have any furniture except for a bed, a couch, and a big chair because I gave all our crappy tables and whatnot to my ex-husband. So mom and I had fun going to IKEA getting all the furniture and decor I needed to decorate my house....The entire time she was here we were working on my apartment (putting furniture together, hanging bookshelves, sorting through boxes, etc.) Ended up taking like 7 or 8 boxes of "stuff" to Good Will-
Well Mom left then it was time for my trip to Whistler (my snowboarding trip) *NEVER BEEN SNOWBOARDING---but my good friend Christina asked me to go (her brother was meeting her there and one of his friends' parents had a WICKED timeshare up there that we were all staying in) So even though the airfare, etc wasn't CHEAP---I decided to go up there for the week because I heard it was good times up there. It was voted the number one "slopes" and the number one nightlife for a ski/snow resort so----- well the trip was a great time...although I only snowboarded (if thats what you wanna call it) one time.....one day---long story short, I got brave and ended up landing on my head, and having to be pulled down the humongous hill in a toboggan by ski patrol....the picture pretty much sums up that experience---
